The Blavatnik School Scholarships are need-based awards funded by the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government for students admitted to its Master of Public Policy (MPP). They sit among the School-managed scholarships on the MPP fees and funding page, next to named awards such as the Public Service Scholarship.
There is no separate application. Every admitted applicant receives the School’s Scholarship Questionnaire with the offer, and the award amount depends on the applicant’s financial need and the funds the School has available.
Recipients study the one-year, full-time MPP in Oxford, which draws students from more than 60 countries each year.

- For scale: the MPP course fee is £54,650 a year for both Home and Overseas students (the fee table is labelled for 2026–27 entry).

- Applicants must meet the MPP admission requirements, including an undergraduate degree.
- Scholarship consideration does not affect the admission decision; all offers are made initially without funding.

Application process
- 1Apply to the Oxford MPP by 2 December 2026 for 2027–28 entry; the School advises submitting about two weeks early.
- 2Submit the full MPP file: a personal statement in four 200-word sections, a CV of up to two pages, a reflective policy essay, a 400-word public service essay, transcripts and three references.
- 3If you receive an offer, complete the Blavatnik School of Government Scholarship Questionnaire sent with it, usually within one week.
- 4Wait for the Scholarships Committee; some decisions may not come until late June because other scholarship schemes decide first.
