The Rotman School of Management offers the Black Leadership Award to incoming students admitted to its Full-Time MBA in Toronto. Recipients must self-identify as Black and demonstrate academic excellence and strong leadership. The award is decided on merit at admission, with additional consideration possible for financial need.

Applicants submit the Full-Time MBA application and are assessed for entrance awards automatically. The in-person MBA comprises 16 months of academic study and an opportunity for a four-month paid internship.

  • The recipient receives an entrance scholarship, but Rotman does not publish a specific amount for this award.
  • The award decision is made at the time of admission.

Eligibility

  • Be an incoming Rotman Full-Time MBA student who self-identifies as Black.
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and strong leadership; financial need may receive additional consideration.
  • Hold an appropriate four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least a 3.0 GPA in the final year.
  • Meet the Full-Time MBA’s work-experience, English-language, and GMAT or GRE requirements or a published exemption; the usual two-year work-experience minimum has exceptions for some combined degrees.
  • Rotman states no nationality or residency restriction for this award.
