BI Norwegian Business School gives the Presidential Scholarship to admitted master’s students with superior academic records at its Oslo or Bergen campus. It is an entrance award based on grades, not financial need.
Norwegian and international applicants can apply, as can third-year Siviløkonom (Sivøk) students moving into the master’s stage. The last round served the Autumn 2026 intake; BI’s full-time application portal opens each year on 1 November.
Benefits & funding
- Full tuition fees each semester for up to two years, while academic progression requirements are met.
- International recipients also get NOK 50,000 per semester for living costs; residents of Norway and Sivøk recipients get tuition only.
- To keep it: 30 ECTS each semester and a cumulative GPA of at least B on BI’s ECTS scale.
- Recipients must serve as BI Ambassadors, helping with recruitment.
Eligibility
- Overall GPA of A on the ECTS scale, or the top grade on an international scale.
- Admitted to the first year of a master’s programme at campus Oslo or Bergen, except the BI–Luiss Joint Masters in Marketing.
- Seeking a first master’s degree.
- Any citizenship. International citizens with a Norwegian bachelor’s degree, or eligible for Lånekassen support, count as residents of Norway.
- Third-year Sivøk students may apply.
- Applicants whose admission needs the GMAT/GRE or an English test must have taken it before 1 March.

Application process
- 1Apply for admission on BI’s online portal with every admission document.
- 2In the same application, upload one PDF combining your CV and a scholarship letter of at most one page to the Scholarship section; email applications are refused.
- 3Submit by 1 March; late applications are not considered.
- 4Third-year Sivøk students email CV and letter to info@bi.no instead (subject “BI Presidential Scholarship Application” on the award page; “Master Scholarship Application” on BI’s general scholarships page).
- 5Accept the admission offer; only then is the scholarship considered.
