Beasiswa Unggulan Masyarakat Berprestasi supports Indonesian citizens with national or international academic or non-academic achievement, or a contribution to national competitiveness. Pusat Layanan Pembiayaan Pendidikan administers the scholarship under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.

Recipients pursue D4/S1, master’s, or doctoral study at an approved university in Indonesia or abroad. The 2026 application window ran from 20 to 24 August, and later selection dates were not yet published.

Benefits & funding

  • For study in Indonesia, the scholarship covers education fees, living costs, and books.
  • For study abroad, it covers education fees and living costs; exact amounts are set in the scholarship agreement.
  • Support lasts up to eight semesters for D4/S1, four semesters for master’s study, and six semesters for doctoral study.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be Indonesian citizens with academic or non-academic achievement at national or international level, or a contribution to Indonesia’s competitiveness.
  • Applicants need an institutional recommendation, must not hold a similar scholarship from another source, and must not previously have studied at the same degree level.
  • Applicants must hold an unconditional admission letter or qualifying active-student letter from an approved university and cannot be lecturers, teachers, education personnel, or cultural practitioners.
  • D4/S1 applicants must have completed secondary school in the application year or within the previous two years; continuing students need a minimum 2.75 GPA.
  • New master’s applicants must not yet be 32 on 31 December of the application year, while continuing master’s students must not yet be 33; the corresponding doctoral limits are 46 and 47.
  • Master’s and doctoral routes require a minimum 3.00 prior-degree GPA, and continuing students also need a minimum 3.00 current GPA; UKBI proof is required, with official English-language proof for overseas study.

Application process

    Confirm the current cycle’s degree-level requirements and the eligibility of the intended university.
  2. 2
    Register or sign in through the official Si Unggul application portal when the application window opens.
  3. 3
    Complete the online form and upload the applicable identity, tax, admission or enrolment, academic, language, recommendation, statement, essay, study-plan or dissertation-proposal, and achievement documents.
  4. 4
    Eligible applications proceed through administrative review and an interview before the Head of Puslapdik confirms recipients.
