The Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) Scholarship funds students from developing countries to complete the diploma course at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITH) in Salzburg, Austria. The course runs from September 2026 to May 2027 and combines a general module with a professional specialisation in Hospitality Management or Tourism Management, plus an elective in Entrepreneurship or Teacher Training. A limited number of scholarships is awarded each year, with a limited number of places reserved for priority partner countries of Austrian Development Cooperation.

Eligibility
- Nationals of developing countries on the OECD DAC List of ODA Recipients
- Priority partner countries of Austrian Development Cooperation, which hold a limited number of reserved places: Ethiopia, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, the Palestinian Territories, Georgia, Armenia and Moldova
- Maximum age of 35 at the time of application
- Secondary schooling (GCE A-Levels or equivalent) that qualifies the holder for university entry
- At least one year of practical experience in tourism or hospitality, or graduation from a tourism institute
- Proof of excellent English (an internationally recognised certificate such as TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge) for applicants from non-English-speaking countries
Application process
- 1Review the ITH information booklet, cost sheet and required-documents list.
- 2Complete the online application form at ith-salzburg.at within the application window (it opens around September; the 2026 intake closed on 6 February 2026).
- 3Submit the required documents and await email confirmation.
- 4Selected applicants receive an acceptance letter by April 2026 at the latest.
- 5Begin the Austrian residence-permit / visa process once accepted.
