The AsiaGlobal Fellows Program is an interdisciplinary leadership initiative administered by Asia Global Institute at The University of Hong Kong. It brings a small annual cohort of mid-career professionals to Hong Kong to examine global issues from Asian perspectives. The program usually runs from September to November.

Fellows attend lectures and discussions, visit organizations, join a regional study tour, mentor HKU undergraduates and complete a policy research project. The current official admissions pages state that applications for the 2026 cohort are closed.

Eligibility

  • The program is for mid-career professionals with a strong interest and track record in public policy.
  • High proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking English is required.
  • There is no formal academic requirement, although fellows are normally university graduates.
  • The current official admissions pages state no nationality, residence, age or gender restriction.

Application process

    Complete and submit the online application when the system is open; applications by email or post are not accepted.

    Provide accurate contact details for three independent referees who are not relatives and who know the applicant’s work and career.

    Add supporting documents such as a résumé and relevant citations or awards.

    Ensure all three referees submit their recommendation letters in English by the application deadline.

    If shortlisted, attend an interview online or in person.
