The AScI International Summer Research Programme, run by the Aalto Science Institute at Aalto University’s School of Science, brings students from around the world to Espoo, Finland to work as paid research assistants for the summer. Participants join a research group across seven departments of the School of Science and Aalto’s three engineering schools, spending about 12 weeks (June–August) on a real research project. The programme is highly competitive — the 2025 cycle selected 57 interns from 25 countries out of more than 7,000 applicants.
