Arctic Digital Nomads runs coworking communities in three small northern villages — Vágur in the Faroe Islands, Þingeyri in Iceland’s Westfjords, and the Geirangerfjord villages of Geiranger, Norddal and Eidsdal in Norway. Once a year it awards a grant that covers one to three months of accommodation and workspace in one of them.
Grantees keep their own job or creative practice and work remotely from the village. There is no curriculum and no output to deliver; in return the host asks each participant to give something back to the community in a way that fits their own skills and interests.
Each site is run with a local partner: the Municipality of Vágur, Blábankinn in Þingeyri, and Fjord Cowork in the Geirangerfjord area. The project itself is managed by Stiftinga Geirangerfjorden Verdsarv, a registered Norwegian foundation. The 2026–27 round opens on 1 October 2026.

Eligibility
- Open to all nationalities. Visa rules for Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands are the applicant’s own responsibility; the host points applicants to the official immigration sites rather than advising individually.
- For people who can work remotely — designers, developers, writers, researchers, artists and families are all named as welcome.
- No degree, age or work-experience requirement is published.
- A partner and children can be included in one shared application for the group. Children cannot formally enrol in local schools but can take part in community activities.
- Pets can be accommodated when mentioned in the application.
- The host selects for a diverse group of digital professionals whose skills and lifestyle blend into a small Arctic community.
