Arcadia Impact runs the AI Governance Taskforce for professionals moving from established careers into frontier AI governance. Participants work remotely in multidisciplinary teams of four under a research team leader and an expert partner.

Over 12 delivery weeks, teams develop policy-relevant outputs such as academic-style preprints, policy briefs, memos, and articles. The Autumn 2026 cohort runs from 12 October 2026 to 15 January 2027, including a two-week year-end break. The taskforce has run several seasonal cohorts, without a fixed annual or twice-yearly cadence stated.

  • Participation is free, voluntary, and unpaid; Arcadia Impact provides no remuneration.
  • Participants receive research direction and oversight from a research team leader and an expert partner.
  • Teams build research credentials and professional connections while producing policy-relevant work.
  • Approximately 20 Research Associate places are expected.

Eligibility

  • Applicants may be based anywhere; no nationality or residency restriction is stated.
  • The program is intended for experienced professionals transitioning into frontier AI governance, but no minimum number of years is specified.
  • Applicants must commit at least eight hours per week throughout the cohort and work in a structured remote team.
  • Applicants must be committed to careers reducing catastrophic and systemic risks from frontier AI.
  • No specific degree or deep technical background is required; transferable expertise from many disciplines is considered.
