The ANU Chancellor’s International Scholarship supports high-achieving overseas students beginning eligible undergraduate, postgraduate, or graduate-certificate coursework at the Australian National University. ANU awards up to 200 scholarships across citizenship-based categories, including categories available to students from any country.
Selection is based on academic merit using the qualifications submitted for admission. The scholarship page currently marks the award unavailable, and the latest formal conditions cover students commencing in 2026.
Benefits & funding
- The award reduces tuition fees by 25% or 50%, as specified in the scholarship offer.
- The tuition reduction applies at the start of each semester for the duration of the recipient’s undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
- Recipients may take up guaranteed accommodation for their first year, but the guarantee does not pay the accommodation cost.
- Recipients remain responsible for the balance of tuition, books, study materials, accommodation, and all other study costs.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be commencing overseas students and hold an offer for an eligible ANU undergraduate, postgraduate, or graduate-certificate program.
- Holders of a subclass 995 visa are not eligible unless they are enrolling in an eligible postgraduate program.
- The Doctor of Medicine and Surgery and Master of Military and Defence Studies are excluded.
- Applicants must meet every condition of their admission offer, including any on-campus requirement attached to the chosen program.
- Applicants must not have received this scholarship previously at the same study level and must not hold external sponsorship that covers any part of ANU tuition fees.
- Continued support normally requires a full-time load of 24 units per study period and a semester GPA of at least 5.5.
