Anson L. Clark Scholars Program — Research Program

The Anson L. Clark Scholars Program is an intensive summer research experience at Texas Tech University for 12 rising high school seniors and recent graduates. Participants work in person with university faculty in Lubbock, Texas, and also attend weekly seminars, social activities and weekend programming.

The latest published cycle ran for seven weeks, from June 21 to August 6, 2026. Its research areas included biology, chemistry, computer science, economics, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering and physics.

Benefits & funding

No program participation fee; a $25 application fee applies.
On-campus meals, room and board, and weekend activities are provided.
A $750 stipend is paid after successful completion of the research project report.
Travel to and from Lubbock, personal costs, and medical expenses are not covered.

Eligibility

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Applicants must be at least 17 by the program start date, with no exceptions.
For the 2026 cycle, applicants were expected to graduate from high school in 2026 or 2027, covering the summer before senior year or immediately after graduation.

Enter SAT or ACT scores, or provide at least a PSAT or PACT score if those tests are unavailable by the deadline.

Arrange three online recommendations; at least two must come from teachers.
