The African Scholarship is funded by alumni and friends of London Business School for a successful MBA applicant from an African country. One award of £20,000 is available, and every eligible admitted applicant is considered automatically.

The recipient joins the in-person LBS MBA in London, which can be completed in 15, 18, or 21 months. Applications for the August 2027 intake are open.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must first be successful in admission to the London Business School MBA.
  • Applicants must be from an African country: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Western Sahara, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.
  • LBS does not require a particular undergraduate subject and may consider non-graduates with an excellent career record.
  • The MBA is aimed at applicants with high-quality work experience, but LBS states no fixed numeric minimum and may admit applicants with fewer than three years.
  • No separate scholarship application is required.

Application process

    Open an LBS profile and begin the online MBA application.
  2. 2
    Submit the application form, essays, one-page CV, professional referee details, valid GMAT or GRE score, English-language evidence when required, university transcripts, and the £200 application fee.

    Complete an alumni or senior admissions staff interview if selected.
  4. 4
    Receive the MBA admission decision; every eligible successful applicant is then considered automatically for the scholarship.
