The ACE Hub Youth Event is an annual in-person programme in Bonn organized through the Action for Climate Empowerment Hub, a collaboration between UN Climate Change and the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia. It develops young leaders’ capacity to participate in climate action and links local experience with national, regional and international processes.
The 2026 edition ran for three days before SB64, combining interactive training on youth participation in policymaking, skills development and informal community engagement. It also included an excursion to Düsseldorf and invited participants to help shape an alumni network.
Benefits & funding
- The event provides three days of interactive training, peer exchange, networking and access to the programme.
- For the official 2026 LOJIQ partner route, support included C$800 toward return airfare, four daily allowances of C$250, C$100 for local transport and a possible additional remote-region transport allowance.
- That partner support was partial: participants remained responsible for other personal and travel-related costs listed by LOJIQ. Funding terms can differ by application route.
Eligibility
- The 2026 LOJIQ partner route required applicants to be 18–35, fluent in spoken and written English, and available in person for the full event.
- That route was limited to Canadian citizens or permanent residents living in Québec with a valid Québec health-insurance card. These restrictions applied to the LOJIQ route, not to every ACE Hub Youth Event route.
- Eligible profiles included professionals, researchers, students and young people engaged in climate action with knowledge of, interest in or experience in at least one ACE area.
- Local or subnational climate engagement was preferred rather than mandatory. The central UNFCCC page no longer publishes the closed 2026 call’s full general eligibility.
