AAKRUTI is Dassault Systèmes’ flagship student design competition, now in its 16th edition. Undergraduate teams from around the world design and model products that address real-world challenges, using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and SOLIDWORKS. Since it began, more than 75,000 students from over 1,000 institutions across 37 countries have taken part. The 2026 edition runs on four themes: robotics, local community problems, healthcare innovation, and mobility. Selected teams present at the global finale during 3DEXPERIENCE World 2027 in Nashville, United States.

Eligibility

  • Open to undergraduate students currently enrolled in any discipline, including engineering, design, architecture, medicine, management, and social sciences.
  • High-school students are not eligible.
  • Entry is team-based (the guidelines describe teams of around four students with a faculty mentor).
  • Open worldwide; the application deadline depends on the team’s region (see timeline).

Application process

    Register the team on the official AAKRUTI page at SOLIDWORKS.

    Access the provided SOLIDWORKS license and 3DEXPERIENCE tools.

    Choose a theme and develop a product-design project with 3D models and a technical report.
  4. 4
    Submit before the deadline for your region.
  5. 5
    Shortlisted teams advance through evaluation to the global finale.
